All my diy skills come from my dad and he taught me never to take life too seriously.
He’s the best .

He taught me to be wary and selective. Life is like a cocktail party, just because the room is full it doesn’t mean you need to engage with everyone.

He instilled in me 'your tyres are the only thing between you and the road - dont buy cheap tyres!'

Always measure twice and cut once which saves time and money. Was a tomboy as a girl and much preferred helping him and playing with my brother’s toys than dolls much to my mother’s dismay.

Don't take up smoking. He was furious when he found out my brother was a smoker.

Sadly my dad died of a smoking related illness after years of trying to give up.

My dad taught me a lot but my favourite things are
Learn to swim and dive
Play pool and cook a bloody good bacon sandwich.
18 years ago this year we said good bye for the last time. Miss him terribly x

My late father used to smoke 60 senior service a day (they were unfiltered) We used to beg him to give up but when he tried he would get so ratty we would beg him to take it up again.

He died from lung cancer - as did my (late) mother who never touched on in her lifetime.
