Pin trading at WDW

In non Covid times can you trade the metal Disney badges that Primark sells with cast members ? Was going to get my 5 year old some to trade for fun in the event we go to WDW Oct 2021

TIA

I wouldn't have thought you could trade those pins any time. I think they have to have the Pin Trading logo on the back.

I didn't know primark sold pins. I've bought from Ebay for my kids to trade. Some may be fakes (scrappers) but for the kids they are fine. My kids loved trading!

I saw Tim tracker showing trading is still happening even now!

Not many Cast Members look for fakes. They end up with lanyards full of cheap knock offs. Its killing pin trading.

I agree, and from what I could tell, only one of the batches I've bought had a scrapper. We did not trade that one. However, to my eye, I could not tell if any others were. I've watched some 'how you can tell vids' and I was still unable to tell a difference so presumed they were real. We only traded with cm's.

As far as I could tell, the cms were trading with my kids and some gave them a look over, others just traded. They didnt show or obviously pick up any fakes, so maybe ours were all genuine.

I guess it depends on your reason for trading that youd say its killing it. I'm guessing you're a proper trader. And in that case I completely hear you.

I was using trading for my spec needs son as he was fascinated and would interact with the CMs. For us, our priority was social interaction for him. So it was brilliant. We may well have both traded and him chosen some fakes, but it mattered not. More important was the interaction. I ought to dig out the pins again and look them over. See if I can tell now.
