The Tooth Fairy - Funny Conversation

My Granddaughter just Face Timed me unexpectedly and asked did I notice anything different about her. So I looked for a bit and eventually decided she had lost a tooth

I then said leave it under your pillow and the tooth fairy will leave you some money.

She checked her Mother wasn’t listening and whispered to me it’s not real Bampi it’s Mum or Dad who leave the money

Then she said Father Xmas isn’t real either. I was mooching around and found the Elf on the Shelf under Mums bed!

So we have have just had an interesting half hour natter about beliefs v presents and where the line lies.

How sad when they suddenly twig it’s all make believe.

I did have to warn my Daughter about stuff under her bed

Ohhhhh your Granddaughter has taken it way better than mine did a couple of weeks ago, she broke her heart when some lads down the park told her Santa wasn't real, her Mum had been hoping to get one more Christmas out of her believing. She was devastated when her Mum had the Santa talk that night, and I mean devastated 😳😢Then she found out about the tooth fairy and the dummy fairy(yes the dummy fairy is a thing, she left her a present for a box of old dummies) This year is the worst year EVER and her whole life has been a lie🤣She was 11 on Monday and I suppose she had to know before High School next year. 😁

You've got me panicking... DD is 11 and just started high school and still believes in santa and tooth fairy.

How on earth do I break this to her so she's not a laughing stock at school?

Mine is 10 in January. I didn’t probe as to where she got the info from as that’s her Parents job.
I think our two were aware before a high school. It it’s so long ago we can’t remember.

Maybe the Summer holidays before high school is a good time to break the news.

I don't even remember telling my 3 sons, but omg Brooke was totally in bits, she sobbed herself to sleep eventually and even the next morning she was questioning everything, even the Santa tracker. Wish they could just stay young and innocent 😕

That would have been this summer 🤔

She's already at high school. 11 already.

Might drop the hint to her older brother

I can't believe I've left it this late

I told my kids around the last year of junior school, my dd twigged when I kept forgetting to stick a pound under her pillow. I would them pretend to find it under her bed and tell her the tooth fairy dropped her tooth. What a crap mother!
Kids are too clued up for stories nowdays!
