Is Grand Floridian worth the extra points?

For everyone who has stayed at the Grand Floridian-is it worth the extra points to stay there? I'm planning for a swap from the Boardwalk to another resort at our 7 month window and have a short list of SSR, OKW and GF as we haven't stayed at any of those yet. We want to try and do keys to the kingdom tour this year so a monorail resort would be handy for an early start hence looking at GF. Have stated at BLT before and we don't fancy Poly. Thoughts welcome.

I expect you’ll get a mixed response - I’m a monorail resort fan and am not overly bothered about the Epcot resorts (although Boardwalk is easily my favourite out of those) - for me, the Grand Floridian is an ‘upgrade’ so I would say it’s worth splashing out more points for, however ymmv. 👍

Personally it’s too many points for me to justify. We are not great fans of the main GF building either, although the DVC section is very nice.

Thanks both. I knew I would get a mixed view but was interested in all sides of the arguments to try and help me decide 😊.

I own at Boardwalk and have been very happy to trade for GFV on three or four occasions - it's a lovely resort.

It's a lovely resort and I've been happy to stay there, but I cannot see myself booking there very often.
For the same amount of points I can book VGF or get a studio at SSR and the deluxe dining plan (renting the points difference).
I don't think it's that much better than other resorts.

We love VGF and I’m currently kicking myself for “upgrading” from a VGF studio to a one bed at BLT. I really like the theming and the atmosphere around the resort. We had a really good experience with CMs this month, particularly the villas front desk staff. They recognised us and struck up conversations with the kids when we were walking past. It’s much more intimate than anywhere else I’ve stayed in the area.

We own there and absolutely love it. By far the best DVC resort in our opinion.

We absolutely loved our stay there and will definitely stay at the Grand Floridian again.

We’ve been twice and loved it. Managed to get a studio at 7 months for our first 4 days in April (Star Wars run Disney) and am looking forward to being back. We’ve then got a week on Marco island and a week back at Saratoga, hopefully in a refurbished room! Can’t wait
