La Grange and Cantina - too similar?
We just nabbed the free HB offer and are in Santa Fe. Since the park closes 7pm the options we have for evening meal are Cantina, Chuck Wagon or La Grange.
La Grange looks a cut above the others and I think there is live music too? So will definitely go there. Done Chuck Wagon and found it unbearably noisy although food was OK. Like the look of Cantina but wonder if the food is too similar? Other options we are considering: Pay OOP with Shareholder discount somewhere one night and use a voucher for lunch at Plaza Gardens on our last day. This means we won't need food on the train or when we get home. Use the voucher somewhere else and pay the extra - but then we would still have to pay OOP for lunch on last day.

The food in La Grange and the Cantina is similar, though they did have a few options (in 2014) at La Grange which were not available in the Cantina, such as carved meats and salmon. The salad bar also seemed to have a larger variety of tossed salads.
For me the main benefit of La Grange was the atmosphere. The restaurant is smaller so it was a lot less hectic than the Cantina, and there was no big queue on entry. Live music is available in Billy Bobs, though the restaurant is in a separate area (Music is in the bar) You could always go for your meal, then move through to the bar for the music and a few drinks afterwards. We really liked La Cantina when we visited in 2010, and if we had been staying at the Cheyenne again we would have gone back, we opted for La Grange and we enjoyed it, we ate at Crocketts Tavern the night before (Staying there) and La Grange was similar but did have more choice in the buffet and desserts which I preferred. Plasa Gardens was the nicest buffet overall IMO.
