My dad is really ill...

So sorry to read your post what an awful time for you and your family. My MiL had vascular dementia and had been in a care home for over 5 years, she suddenly deteriorated very quickly and sadly she passed in May without us being able to see her. I can understand your very mixed emotions at the moment we are still feeling that way now. Our thoughts are with you. x

So sorry for you. I found out on Wednesday that my Dad has a tumour on his kidney and possibly his pancreas. We are waiting for an appointment to see the Urology department to find out exactly what is happening. He has been in so much pain over the last 2 months and it is heartbreaking to see him like this

So sorry to read your news, it’s so sad
Hopefully Dad can get back to his nursing home soon so will be back in familiar surroundings
The palliative care should be able to keep him comfortable. My Dad had vascular dementia and was in a home for a few years, before developing pneumonia. Dementia is such an awful condition

Sorry to hear your news it must have been such a shock. As others say don't feel guilty. My dad is in a nursing home for a year as he has alzheimers.

I am so very very sorry, having sat and heard that news myself before I know the utter fear & dread your feeling. Your dear dad because of his dementia is possibly not able to take in the news himself which is good. YOu now have to be doubly strong for not only for yourself but for your mum as well. If it is that advanced then I can tell you he will be kept very comfortable and without pain so do not worry about that. It will probably be very quick & very peaceful for your dad and quite probably in his sleep when the time comes. Do all you can to help each other now, if your dad were able then he would know how much you all love him and thats what matters and will help you all through this.
