Travel day. Have you thrown your cases in and gone to your favourite theme park ?
We initially had thought to freshen up and grab a bite to eat when we arrive at okw. Our flight hopefully is still 11.30am. However with 2 extra evening hours at MK would you throw caution to the wind and go there instead.?We are 3 adults (daughter almost 18 !) so dont have the concerns of young children. We have fast passed some rides for latest time possible .Thought we would get a bite to eat at cosmic rays, watch the fireworks and enjoy the magic. We haven't lost anything if flights get delayed and getting through mco takes it time. Have any of you done this? We have been to disneyworld 10 + so understand the tiredness of travelling etc. Maybe its me being too excited with the thought of disney being on my doorstep for the first time and after waiting 3 years.

Personally for me, no, I couldn't do it. I'm just too tired to appreciate anything, and I wouldn't want to risk ruining some memories. I'd rather grab a bite to eat and then sleep!

Only you and your body on arrival can answer that question.
All options should be kept open. Disney332

You have described exactly what we do on arrival day. As long as no drastic flight delays, we freshen up get some rides in and normally grab a bite at cosmic rays. (I always plan 3 Fast Passes too) It's kind of a tradition now. Also if I sleep too early I'll be awake at 4am, this way we sleep til about 7am and I don't feel so tired by late pm the next day. Love Magic Kingdom on arrival days.

We are always too tired! Especially with an early morning flight! Even with magic hours, I would always opt for an early night first night and early to rise! No harm in booking FP though! Just in case!

What else could you do instead ? Eat pizza and go to sleep. Zzzzzz
It's a great plan , as you say nothing lost if you bail due to tiredness or delays so why not. I'd rather be tired on Main Street than have an early night after a day of sitting around on a plane doing nothing. I'll still wake up too early the next morning either way. |

We've only done it a few times. Once in 2009 (we landed very early and went straight to MK from All Star Sports) and then again last year (we headed straight for the Boardwalk for pizza then into Epcot).
Other times we have gone to Publix to stock up the villa or when we've been on site we've gone to Disney Springs or just had something to eat then gone to the pool. It all depends on how you're feeling really

I would love to be able to do that but sadly due to the excitement of travel day, I get very little sleep the night before so by the time we've landed, sorted out the car and driven to the hotel/villa, I am good for nothing and the rest of the family aren't much better!

We have done when we were on the very early flight out of Newcastle as you arrived by noon.
This year we landed in New York and went out and saw the sights. We collapsed about 7pm though. Could not walk another step. |

I think if we were staying onsite then I'd give it a go. You can always change your mind if you're not up to it. We stay in a villa so usually spend the first evening stocking up on supplies (mostly m&ms) have a meal out and a quick dip in the pool. We try and stay up as late as we can to help adjust to the time zone. I'm going to say go for it!
