First stop is Santa Monica, Bev Hills & Holmby hills, Rodeo drive, Sunset strip, Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood sign in lake Hollywood park (up as close as you can get) & then a drive through to Warner Bros studio.
We had looked at flying ourselves but there would of been no way we could of done all of this by ourselves. Check out the company on trip adviser they get 5 star reviews. Also you go in a luxury SUV so only about 6/8 max in the group which is the main thing for us.

that sounds amazing - we are only there for 5 days but i would love to do that

Hiya! You will have a fantastic time! I've done 2 trips to Vegas to date and a count down on the go (55 days! ). It is absolutely huge and I don't think you can appreciate it until you get there - we've lost days to just wandering round hotels! Definitely try and catch some shows while there. We've seen 13 to date and not 1 we didn't rate! Enjoy! x

Thanks everyone!

I wish I had booked for longer now - I am sure we have nowhere near enough time there.

So with the trip getting closer I thought I'd better get around to booking the Grand Canyon trip.

The plan has been to book it for my actual birthday - what a great way to spend my 40th, right? I wanted the really early tour (6:15am pickup - early starts don't bother me) so I could get back and still go out for dinner.

I nearly booked it a few weeks ago but didn't, and then the USD rate dropped so I held off. On Sunday Ele told me to just get on and book it.

Disaster! The 6:15 tour on my birthday is sold out!

Naturally, being a grown up man, I had a huge sulk and declared the whole trip ruined. Ele, being far more wise than me, talked me around to going the day before with the promise of a lovely relaxing birthday involving not getting up so early and a lovely breakfast somewhere, with perhaps cocktails around a pool or whatever else I wanted to do, followed by a very nice dinner somewhere.

So I reluctantly agreed to this, and we're doing exactly that.

All my own fault, which makes it worse. If it was somebody else's fault I would be quite happy blaming them!

Oh dear! Is it worth just looking at a different tour operator instead? There will be loads of options with similar time - we ended up not doing it this time because all the operators were early starts and we are not morning people so don't give up if thats what you want to do x

I really wanted this specific trip. It's a small plane ride over the Hoover dam, along the Colorado river and then landing at the South Rim, then transport to 2 viewing points. Came very highly recommended by someone (tonymc I think).

I've booked it now anyway

Brilliant sounds good :-) Bet you are so excited! I'm looking forward to your updates as I have a severe case of PVD going on (post vegas depression )
