Lounges in Orlando

Good Afternoon everyone.

Hope someone can help, we went to Orlando in 2017 in First Class (got the seats in the sale so doubt we would ever afford it again) and we went in a lounge whilst waiting for our flight back. It was a really lovely lounge but i don't know which one it was, was wondering if we could pay to go in there this year when we fly? We are going in Business on BA there and PE (or their equivalents) coming back, so no access automatically to lounges coming home.

You can book The Club lounge at MCO for $40 directly or via some UK sites for about £26.

It gets mixed reviews.We use it as we get in via priority pass. Note sure whether I'd pay the day rate unless it appeared quiet on the particular day I was flying; we tend to fly peak dates so it's been a bit busy.

There are no first class flights to Orlando from the UK. I have never come across a lovely lounge in Orlando. I thought the Delta lounge was terrible and opted to sit in the airport after an hour. I found the Club Lounge to be preferable to Delta but there is no way I would pay £26 or $40 for it. Honestly I would kill some time with a meal in the terminal and wait in there.

The delta lounge and the club are both nothing more than a no1 lounge with even less food n drink options, there ok if you get them as part of ur flight but would never pay for them

This one if those questions that you will get opposing views on.
Some woukd never pay for lounge access, preferring to spend their money somewhere else, others would happy to pay for lounge access to get away from the bustle of the departure areas.
There is no one right or wrong way.
Tge club at Orlando us used by BA and Aer Lingus, American gave their own lounge.
Plenty of snacks and drinks in there.
I’m afraid first class is long gone into Orlando, only Bysiness class now plus American Airlines internal first class which us business but no lounge access

The Club lounge at MCO always seems to be heaving these days. Last time we used it we couldn't even choose where we sat, we were allocated seats (and they were damp).
I'll use it when I get it for free but I'd never pay for it. It used to be nice and quiet but those days seem to be gone now. I do like the jelly beans though 😋

With regard to first class. How does VAs Upper Class compare? From posts above is it more like a business class product? I honestly don’t know as the most I’ve been on VA is PE

Do you mean the cabin or the lounges?

The Virgin UC lounge at Gatwick is excellent. The Delta lounge at MCO is not in the same league but is fine. It's clean and welcoming and ticks the box for us.

As this thread is about "Orlando Lounges" I like Mr T will stick to commenting about Virgin's offering and not comment on "onboard hard product" as this is a different subject entirely.

The Virgin Clubhouse in Heathrow is thought of as one of the best lounge offerings and for that particular airport compares very well with Cathay Pacific First in T3, Qatar's in T4 and BA's Concorde Lounge in T5 (in my opinion I think VS CH beats BA F at LHR). But you have to bear in mind that this LHR operation is serving a very different market to compare it to, perhaps, the offerings at Manchester etc.

Virgin are opening their new Clubhouse in Manchester soon providing a more comfortable experience for their UC passengers (and hopefully PE) mirroring what is offered at Gatwick.

Spreading the net wider lounges aborad are a different matter entirely - airlines can't afford to open lounges in every airport that they operate from and this is how the Orlando situation arises. When airlines join an alliance such as BA/AA and VS/DL/KLM/AF this increases the lounges available but rules for use can be very different with paid for access as well as qualifying by your ticket type etc.

As usual with a question like this there will be many different opinions and "lengths" of string debates.

Apologies for butting in, but if flying BA Club but on/with AA, MCO-ORD-LHR are there any lounges we could use, please?

We used a lounge at MCO some years back but flying MCO - London direct and with BA business class on a BA plane. Not sure if it makes a difference? I remember it as a small, crowded lounge with disappointing food offerings
