Where is the worst place you have ever slept?

As the title, mine was in a linen cupboard!

Random hotel near Gander airport, Newfoundland in 2001. We were flying Travel City Direct with American Transair (I think it was called that), and after stopping to re-fuel the plane 'broke'. Can't remember exactly the issue but the hotel they put us up in was awful (cracks in the sink, hairs in the bed, green-tinged water). Needless to say I was first in line for the coach back to the airport and the new plane the next morning!

A genuine no tell motel in the US, we were on a road trip that didn’t go to plan one day and couldn’t get to that day’s destination so had to make an emergency stay for one night, - never wanted a night over so quickly in all my life, but we do laugh (and cringe) about it now.

In a car when we went camping and the storm nearly blew the tent away

A sleeper train - London to Edinburgh.

As a naive 17 year old girl I did not realise it would be shared accommodation - was some years ago, think that may have changed now! I didn't sleep a wink all night - Locked in a room all night - 8ft by 5ft - with a stranger... gives me the shivers even now...

Great thread, some definitely dodgy places.

For me, it would have to be in a tent, I'm not a camper! Too noisy with the dawn chorus and too light. Ground mats were uncomfortable as well. 😞

Have to say, trying to sleep on a night flight is awful too, too uncomfortable.

On the floor of Cambridge train station men's loos. In a pink satin ballgown.

May Ball travel plans disrupted.

Then had to travel back though London the next morning looking and smelling appalling.

Drink might have been involved.

My now DH in a full tux was laid out on the floor next to me to protect me as the loos were still in use.

Pray my mothers not reading this (or my kids) would lose all parental credibility 😂

In a tent in the Lake District on a tiny blow up bed shared with husband, a one year old and a three year old who would wake up during the night because of the thundering rain bouncing off the canvas. First and last time we ever went camping.
