We have local farmer delivering Milk and Eggs, he also has a box at the end of the lane full of eggs with an honesty box for the pennies 😁

We also tried out a milk delivery since the lockdown. It’s only my hubby that uses it as I’m a black coffee person
Also available is soya milk, orange juice, eggs. Yes it’s a little more , but much nicer to wake up to fresh milk on your doorstep. The only thing I wasn’t originally keen on was the fact you have to pay DD as no cash collections due to people not always at home ( in normal times). We get 2 bottles twice a week. Edited to add, something I hadn’t thought of was a cover for bottle after the foil top was removed 🙄. So used to supermarket milk. Edited at 08:30 PM. |

I hear a milk ‘van’ most mornings, he delivers to over the road on our little quite country street - he pulls up outside, music going & leaves his engine running with the car door open , doesn’t bother me as I’m always up at silly o click, but DH isn’t a morning person so he’s never impressed ! 😂😂

We signed my parents up at the start of lockdown, they could get bread, cakes, fruit and veg as well as milk and eggs, it costs a bit more but they are very happy with it.

Yes, we have a milkman with a float, as with other posters we found him during lockdown and have kept it going, ours also does yoghurt, orange juice etc if you need it x

We live near two large dairy farms and they deliver milk daily to the local community. DH and I went on daily walks during lockdown and we’ve had numerous bizarre conversations about the cows. I’d say we needed to get out more- but think probably we just needed a change of scenery.

My two sons have children who were shielding, their local councillor put them in touch with a milk man when we went into the first lockdown. This was invaluable as they did not have to go to the shops to get milk and they use lots of milk! The milkman would get other bits and pieces they needed. So glad they are still around I bet they were lifesavers for lots of others as well during this terrible period.

There is a milkman that delivers in our area but we don’t use that much milk so we don’t bother. Our next door neighbours get it delivered though and recently heard a noise and looked out the window - the fox that lives in our neighbourhood was drinking from the top of the bottle!

We have a milkman, he’s been delivering down our road for 40 years. We get a couple of pints 3 days a week, always tastes fresher out of a glass bottle
During lockdown he was invaluable in getting eggs as we couldn’t get them anywhere. Edited at 08:46 PM. |

I read that those that don't need a lot of milk but can afford it should be encouraged to have a milkman. This keeps it's profitable so the milkman still delivers and a lifeline to those in need.
I've not seen one on our street but always mean to check it out but as we use a lot of milk I guess it would be expensive. |
