Cruise with a difference.

We have just booked a cruise in December taking in the Christmas Markets in Hamburg, Copenhagen, Oslo, Amsterdam and Bruges.

I'm expecting it to be cold, probably wet as well, but cant wait to explore these cities at this time of year.

We visited Copenhagen, Bruges and Oslo on our cruise this July. We found Bruges and Oslo to be beautiful places and would love to see them at Christmas time. I'm quite jealous
Who are you cruising with?

Certainly will. It's something a bit different.

We have done Copenhagen, Bruges and Oslo in the summer as well on Princess if I remember correctly. Looking forward to seeing Amsterdam and Hamburg as well. Just hope we won't be fed up of all the festivities by the time we get back.
We are sailing on Aurora this time (P&O).
It's pretty good value as well - we had been quoted £600 for 3 nights in Prague B&B. This is 10 nights and just over double that for full board obviously.

Well we are back, having had a fantastic time. The ports were great, only Oslo was really cold and we were only there from lunchtime until 7pm. Brugge felt like a spring day, we were so lucky.
The ship was decorated, only the foyer on embarkation but gradually the whole ship - the "holiday decorator" team were on for 4 days, they had started on 29th October and moved from ship to ship. Left us to go to Oceana then finally Oriana. Loads of people wearing Christmas jumpers.
Unfortunately I came back with a stinking cold and laryngitis and today went to the doctor and was given antibiotics.
Would we do it again? Absolutely.

Who did you cruise with, and were did you depart from? I'd love to do this, although it's unlikely to ever fit with school holidays.

We were with P&O, sailed out of Southampton, really mixed group of people/ages. Not nearly as many 70 yrs plus as I expected. 43 under 18's although I would guess half of those were preschool.
We didn't see a lot of late nights, I was choked with cold the last 4 days so went to bed straight after dinner to make sure I could enjoy the ports.
I would definitely go again if the price was right.
