Good price on Disney Magic from Miami, but how do we get to the port?

We're doing the 5nt Magic from Miami in November 2014 too, but a few days earlier than you. We will be driving down from Orlando, I'll probably drop everyone off and the luggage at the port, then return the car to the car rental and get a shuttle/taxi back to the port. It's not just the car parking cost, it's also the cost of paying for a rental car for 5days while it's not being used. I have been advised that Hertz might be the best choice of rental company for this as not many do shuttles to/from the port. When we disembark then one of us will go collect a new rental car and come pick the luggage and rest of the family up to drive back to BLT, or we might all just jump in a taxi and get the rental car together, we won't have much luggage as I'm leaving most of it at BLT before we go on the cruise.
I will look at prices to keep the car for the duration and park it, but will just see how it works out nearer the time, and once a few more Dibbers have cruised from Miami, so far not many have.

Thank you all very much for your help and advice, I really appreciate it all. I think Hertz will be the way to go and I agree, I don't want to pay for renting a car for 5 days that I won't be using plus car parking charges. I'll let you know how we get on once we get back, so might be able to help some other Dibbers
