Leaning towards TOAD despite not being cheapest.

Peter can't book annual leave for 2017 until Oct so there is a slight change we might not get
the dates. Presumably with TOAD we could change with no fee? (Obviously if the new dates were dearer we would have to pay the new price).
Book direct or with a US TA (we use ToaD too) for great terms and conditions. You will get a full refund if you cancel with more than 75 days to go on that cruise (but not if you book concierge).

Flights home with Norwegian Air are approx. £250 ... bargain!
Tempting, but we couldn't get that near to NYC and just fly home! So we'd be looking at maybe 3 nights - which means Broadway shows, etc etc (for us anyway) - way beyond budget.

I've had a great quote with some really helpful info from Deb at ToaD and we're definitely thinking of booking. We even opened the savings tin tonight!

OK, the unanswerable question...

$2891.42 for 2 adults in deluxe oceanview, cat 09B on deck 2.

Good price?

(Yeah, I know ...)

Savings tin opened and we have enough for the deposit!

If it's an affordable price for you that doesn't break the bank, it's a good price. It's all subjective really.

We like deck 2 (in fairness, we like all decks) .. do you particularly want a window? You could save some money by having an inside room .. On deck 6, there are some category 11's that are classed as sideways rooms .. they're lovely and their layout is great.
There's also some secret oceanview rooms (Debs will know them) where you pay for an inside but you get an obstructed view (past the lifeboat barrels).

Worth a think maybe.

Thanks - I fancy midship and I think oceanview might help with seasickness? I can sometimes feel a bit claustrophobic in a bedroom with no natural light. Plus, more space, and it is just at the top of our budget.

Holiday savings tin opened, money banked, deposit ready to go!

I'm very excited for you Gill

Don't book that room if its more space you need as between the square footage, you really won't notice it at all. Honestly.
If you've not been on a cruise before, why worry about seasickness?

Cruise ships are VERY different to ferries or normal boats. I would be as bold as to say that 95% of people who think they will get seasick as they've had it on ferries will not feel sick on a cruise ship. I base my assumptions only on what I read on forums, not any fact ok!

If it's money you want to save, ask Deb about the secret porthole rooms .. there may be something left. You'd still get natural light and the same size room but cheaper.

Thanks Bats

Appreciate the advice but I think we are happy to go for the room quoted.

Off to see Aladdin on stage tonight and then will book tomorrow!

Personally I find inside rooms make me less sea sick so I think it really does differ between people and you just can't tell before you go unfortunately
