Tahoe, Yukon & Suburban finally get a usable 3rd row!

A boring thread for those who aren’t mad about Full Size SUVs, but the Chevy Tahoe and suburban and GMC Yukon 2021 models (on sale mid 2020) will have the same third row space and leg room as current Ford Expeditions. Meaning adults can actually sit in the back without having to closely inspect your knees with your ears.

I’ve no idea how soon rental companies get brand new models in their fleets, but for those of you booking summer 2020, a brand new American model in the line will be a much better deal than the previous models if you’ve got lanky kids in the back!

Sadly I recon my April rental will be a bit too soon... so I’m still holding out for that 8 seat Expedition

Nice post about time updated Tahoe and Yukon.
However the last Generation Suburban took away a foot of boot space to make 3rd row adult friendly so not been any issues since 2015.

So typically.. what's the oldest a full size suv would be? I am going in november and wondering would they potentially all be swapped for newer models or good chance they would mostly be older models?

Unfortunately Steve very difficult to say.
Generally 2021 models will hit the roads mid to late 2020.
So there will be some about how many wouldn't like to put a figure on it.
Hire companies have a matrix they use to swap out cars NB cost price z hire revenue y residual value x + ancillary cost
So to profit x+ y must be greater than z + ancillary cost.
Unfortunately each and every vehicle will be different due to supply and demand on cost price and residual value which is a high proportion of the sum.
As hire companies are part of big groups often you may see for example a National car becomes an Alamo car, or an Enterprise car becomes a National car.
Enjoy and cross fingers on a new model.
By middle of 2021 I guess hugh majority will be new model.

Ah good to know. From the photos I’ve seen the boot floor seems slightly lower throughout so it should be even better in terms of your thighs being supported by the seat!
