We've been 7 times and have done a good mix of stays:
2000 - 2 weeks, cheap suite off sand lake road and we only did Disney
2002 - very cheap last minute deal where we used up our remaining ticket days from our previous visit to WDW, and did universal and sea world for the first time
2004 - pound was way up vs the dollar, so we did 3 weeks for the first time, as the extra week was such good value. Big apartment for 2 weeks, and a week at St Petes.
2006 - 3 weeks again, but week 1 was in Naples, before 2 weeks in Orlando.
2009 - first trip without my family, just myself and wife (then gf). 3 weeks in an apartment and did everything we could (dollar was still weak). In hindsight we should have stayed at a Disney resort, as we could have gotten Coronado for about the same price, but as I was essentialky the guide for the holiday, I stuck to what I knew.
2013 - Honeymoon. 1 week at Boradwalk Inn and 2 weeks at Wilderness Lodge. Knew it would be a one off so treated ourselves.
2016 - pound collapsed a couple of weeks before we left thanks to Brexit. Luckily we got our dollars early morning before the exchange rates updated (and our hotels were booked long before). First time staying at Universal. We also went back to the Boardwalk Inn for 2 weeks, as it was our 30th birthdays, so a one off again!

We didn't make it back as we were trying for a kid, and couldn't plan holidays that far ahead, and then Covid. When we had baby during lockdown, our plan was to go for our 40th birthdays in 2026, however my family wants us to do a trip with them. So we might be back sooner than expected.

First time was in 1981 just my husband and me.
Then by 1982 and 1984 we had two children so that was our first time with the children. My son was 3 months old and our daughter 22 months. We went every four years then for a few years until around 1990 when we went yearly.
In 1993 we bought annuals so went twice a year. Until in 2003 my son worked on the International Programme at Epcot so for 14 months he was based there and we travelled four times or maybe five to see him.
And that set the scene for years until 2006 when my husband sadly died but I continued to travel with my daughter, friends or solo.
Then I travelled to see my friend Tina who was a CM in the talent department and we began our love affair with road trips!
So time at WDW and time on the road!
Around 2009 my daughter and I took our first DCL cruise! 18 cruises later and two grandchildren my life has been a combo of WDW and DCL.
However, I’m starting to need a change. I’m enjoying friends trips on Princess.
My son and daughter in law hard and fast DCL cruisers are now preferring land based places like The Maldives and Turks and Caicos as am I.
My grandchildren are only 3 and 6 but I’m not sure if this next DCL cruise might be their last for a little while as we seek changes.
Even they’ve seen the same shows over and over and I’d like them to experience more of the world. I do think that as my son lives in Canada that might be a starting point and perhaps Alaska.
