Mattie thank you for your honest response. I’ve travelled through MMH and found Mattie and his team to have always been very professional and had great service. I wish you and your team the best possible outcome through this.

Freedom Travel Group Ltd who the contract is with on the website (My Magic Holidays is a member of this group, but says they are not owned by Freedom Travel Group- see posts below for questions as to what My Magic Holidays are as a legal entity) is owned one quarter by Co-Op Group Travel 2 Holdings Ltd and three quarters by Future Travel Ltd.
Shareholders of Co-Op Group Travel 2 are 100% TCCT Holdings UK Ltd (owned by 3 shareholders- Thomas Cook Retail Ltd, Co-Operative Specialist Business ltd, and Central England Co-Operative Ltd ). I didn't bother going any further to see who owns those. So TCCT Holdings Ltd own that quarter entirely. This explains who they are- ttgmedia.com/news/news/the-complex-story-behind-cookco-op-joint-ventures-6m-profit-151 (copy and paste into a browser, it would not link need to put a www. in front) Turning back to the other three quarter ownership, Future Travel Ltd, that is owned 88% by CO-OP Group Travel 2 which as above, is 100% owned by TCCT Holdings and 12% of Future Travel Ltd is owned by David Elstob. There are also 100000 preference shares in Future Travel which have no equity, but it is the mechanism by which the dividends are extracted on a preferential basis. So all of Freedom Travel Group Ltd (again My Magic Holidays say they are not owned by them), save for 12% of 75% (9% if my maths is correct!) is owned by TCCT Holdings- via the subsidiary of Co-Op Group Travel 2 Holdings. So essentially Freedom Travel Group Ltd who the contract is with looks to be a joint venture with Co-Op (or was, I haven't delved into the latest shareholdings of the Co-Op named companies). As such, whilst I am no insolvency lawyer, I would guess Freedom Travel Group would not form part of any administration. Edit - Mattie says that My Magic Holidays is a partnership and if not part of Freedom Travel Group Ltd, just using its ATOL facility as a consortia. Mattie says that My Magic Holidays is an entirely separate entity to any company connected to Thomas Cook.

With all due respect, as previously stated, we are NOT owned by Freedom Travel group!
I appreciate you may be speculating and looking around, but if you have any questions about how we operate feel free to call me at the office and I will explain to you. What you have posted above is factually incorrect and makes it look like we are OWNED by Freedom and we are not. Mattie

Sorry if I got this wrong. But the website just says 'My Magic Holiday' and when you click on the T&Cs they are set out as between Freedom Travel Group Ltd and the customer. My Magic Holidays Ltd is a limited company, but it is dormant and there are no details of this company listed on your website. My Magic Holidays is not a legal entity- it must either be a company or an individual trading as, or a partnership- none of which appear to be listed on the T&Cs So who is 'My Magic Holidays'? If we book, who are we contracting with? I have updated my post above to list that you are a member of the Freedom Travel Group Ltd (taken directly from your own T&C') but I would still be interested to know who you actually are- a company (which?) sole trader (who?) partnership (who?) Thanks

Hi there,
Why i should reply to this on here I really don't know... but you are making me feel pretty cornered. Freedom Travel Group is a consortia that we use for their ATOL facility. If we DIY a holiday we use this ATOL to package and protect a holiday. We also have the ability to book Thomas Cook packages, Jet2, Gold Medal, Kuoni, and those bookings receive a confirmation and ATOL from respective companies when booking with us. My Magic Holiday is a trading name under the Andrew Earles Holidays umbrella as we are in a partnership NOT a Limited company. My Magic Holiday Limited has been set up in case we decide to go limited. I hope this answers your questions Why I should even feel the need to reply to you, I really don't know as I have openly stated that any questions you should call me? I hope customers booked with us understand at this time there's a lot of uncertainty, but as we always say, were available to talk! Mattie

OK Mattie- sorry I was not trying to make you feel cornered at all. I just wanted some clarity as you came on the open board (very good) and said the customers would have no exposure. I did not mean to upset you in this stressful time.
So you are a partnership operating under a consortia, using the Freedom ATOL facility. That is excellent, thank you for clarifying. I think customers have every right to know exactly who they are dealing with and who they are contracting with. Your website is very unclear on this, as are the T&Cs which do not define 'we' and I'd have no idea who I contracted with apart from Freedom Travel Group Ltd (this is actually stated in the T&Cs). Thanks

Hi there
I really appreciate and understand what you are asking in your questions, but I am confident that customers who have booked with us and are worried, have been in touch with us so we can advise of the situation. Because we are a member of their consortia and use their Freedom ATOL we are given guidelines on how to display their terms and conditions on our website specifically. If we were to book a Kuoni holiday for example the client would not get the Freedom T&C but the Kuoni T&C. Working within the trade for 15 years plus, I know there is a HUGE lack of understanding how different agents trade and work, and no one business can be brushed under the same carpet. So I totally understand where confusion may come in and its hard to explain. While there is a lot of uncertainty at the moment, all I can say again at this time is, we will not be going anywhere. I felt extremely compelled to reply because if I didn't it could damage our brand name that as a team we have work so hard to establish, when in fact there's more to us behind the scenes that probably anyone would understand. I hope that clears any uncertainty where that is concerned. Mattie
