That is surprising I have had stuff repaired 2+ Years on no problem. Your friend should just threaten small claims and contact Trading Standards.

I’d like to think that if it had been me, I’d have been able to get them to fix the phones. I’ve heard that they often tell people they have pay then at the last moment waive the charge.

However if you’ve got a 2yr guarantee it takes all the hassle away.

Trading Standards hasn’t really existed for consumers for years - you’lll be referred to Citizens Advice.

Have always been happy with John Lewis service, they replaced my laptop without hassle when that stopped working.
