Thoughts on aer lingus? Man -sfo
Anyone flown with aer lingus ? Just wondered what they were like? Looking at Manchester to San Francisco viadublin as they have cheapest prices I can find at the moment for our August trip. We’ve only flown with virgin to Florida before and also used delta so just wondering what they like in comparison. Been reading some horror stories on here about the delayed connection in Dublin and people missing flights so not sure what to do.
Any advice would be great thanks |

I flew MCO-Dublin in May. They were absolutely fine.
They had a tasty meal for dinner - vegetarian - butternut squash cheesy pasta. Other options were - braised beef and vegetable green curry. Breakfast was a hot burrito - egg, potato & cheese. Very tasty. I was in 14C and had plenty of legroom. IFE was good and they had a USB port. Wifi - was done by MB used. up to 50mb $7.95 up to 120MB $15.95 up to 270MB $ 32.95 What those mean in terms of using your phone, pass! Lol. I would fly with them again. I prefer Delta personally, but these guys were absolutely fine. |

Hi best way to go especially as you clear customs in Dublin which makes your arrival state side so easy

Some people had issues on here last summer with the flight from Manchester leaving late or being cancelled.
Meant they were a day late arriving due to the missed connection. That is of course a risk with any indirect. Haven't seen any complaints other than that and you get the bonus of clearance in Dublin. |

Not from Manchester but from Heathrow, we did LHR-DUB-SFO last summer.
We’ve flown twice with Aer Lingus now and cannot fault them. We upgraded our inflight meal the first time we used them in 2017 but we really didn’t feel it warranted the extra cost so didn’t bother last year. Food was fine, standard airline offerings! Cabin crew are probably the friendliest we’ve encountered and planes always clean. The only thing I would say is check your connection time in Dublin. We had 2 hours 25 which should have been plenty but as we were travelling at peak time we nearly missed the flight. The immigration hall was packed, they had to hold the plane as they were still waiting for 80 passengers. In 2017 it took us less than 30 mins to get through so not sure what happened last year. I think they may have added more trans Atlantic flights therefore more passengers needing to use immigration We did make the mistake of getting something to eat when we got off the plane from Heathrow as we thought we’d have plenty of time so next time I’d go straight into the immigration hall It was great walking off the plane and straight to hire car garage without needing to go through immigration. We are flying LBA-DUB-LAX in just over 3 weeks and looking forward to it.
Does anyone know what terminal we'll be in? Looking to book a lounge as we have nearly 6 hours between flights and can't work out which one to book. Sorry to jump in

51st and Green is T2 which is where all transatlantic flights depart. Located after security and Pre clearance immigration.
