We are booked for Spain and Portugal for March 2021, got the third person for a quid (adult son) and have gone for standard balcony. Re inside cabins, we are a month returned from the Caribbean on Azura, two weeks inside was fine, didn’t spend much time at all in it and we were anchored outside of Barbados for a week as we couldn’t get off on any islands. It’s the way to go for us in future to be able to afford it.

At the moment she is too big for most of the ports.

We got a cracking deal for the end of October but the itinerary wouldn't be my first choice - we are going with the inlaws and had to offset losing a Cunard deposit

I am really looking forward to going on her - but then I look forward to all my holidays .
The original plan for her limited itinerary was because it's her first year of use and she'd be near the Meyer Werft shipyard in the event of anything being needed. In the light of restrictions by Norway, that may well be revised.

We were due to go on 27/06/2020, its cancelled now and booked a Canaries cruise on the Iona for Jan 2022 with 125% cruise credit. We are now having two weeks instead of one in a suite.

We should have been sailing on her on 13th June. We wouldn't have been able to go because DW is shielding, but hung on until they cancelled in order to benefit from the 125% FCC. We have now booked two weeks in Arabian Gulf on the Oceana for end of November, paying just £180 more. May not get to go if restrictions are still in place but at least we can transfer again for free.

My sister’s friend and her husband were due to sail on the maiden voyage, Her friend won a competition to name the cruise ship, Iona, which is after her daughter.

Interesting. When I worked at Carnival, we were told the name was chosen because of the island and a piece of marble from the island was included as part of the keel-laying ceremony

Correct, but what Mamasher says is still true. It was still a competition (which is even mentioned in your link), and then they chose Iona, because of the link to one of the British isles and a good fit for the brand.

It’s true, there was a competition to name the ship and Iona was chosen, she had entered with the name Iona after her daughter
