Food Prices
Not a political thread but is it just me or are food prices creeping up? I've just spent £99 in Tesco on not much really.

I think it depends on where you shop. I was in Morrison's yesterday and noticed the prices for fruit and vegetables were much higher than Asda. Tesco and M&S are doing very good offers on some of their fruit and vegetable. I think I had a bag of apples from Tesco for about 65p.

Not noticed myself
Depends where you shop.., lidl and Aldi are cheaper, also the weekly offers help and on the major food retailers like Tesco, you can see these in advance online when making a shopping list. Disney332

My shopping has been cheaper lately but only because I’ve gone to fortnightly shopping and only from Lidl, I’m trying very hard to stop the “popping in to tesco” cos I can easily spend £50+ in there and have nothing much to show for it...

I was in Tesco. I just felt it was a lot for what I actually bought.

We generally shop in Tesco and out 2019 total spend was around 10% less than it was in 2018. We hadn't been making any effort to save and there was no change to out shopping habits.
I am hoping for another 10% reduction this year with Club card plus (all be it with a monthly charge). We are now saving £28 / month counting the £8/month. Just waiting for their 25% off on wine to blow a £200 "big shop" on that. I am not a massive fas of any supermarket wine, but there are a few I like. |

I thought this yesterday. Not nearly enough to cover the bottom of a shopping bag. £32 M&S.

Prices have definitely increased, unfortunately I feel it’s only going to get worse.
