London - keeping the cost down
Just booked for 9 nights in London in August, we will do a lot of theatre, but when not doing that, ways to keep the cost down please. Was hoping to do madam tussauds but the Kellogg’s offer of adults free expires June. Anyone know of another way to get cheaper tickets to some of the attractions please? Thanks x

Do you have any Tesco clubcard points to use? These can be redeemed for the Merlin attractions.
Failing that I'm sure there will be another offer on that will include the summer hols Edited at 11:41 PM. |

Are you travelling to London by train? If so, there are lots of 2 for 1 discounts available. We’ve used it for cheaper entry to the Tower of London in the past, as well as museums etc.

I'd say look for the things to do that don't cost anything. Hanging out at Southbank is my favorite, in front of the Barbican there is always something going on. Most of the museums are free as well as the National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery. Some of the markets are great - Colombia Road on a Sunday is a huge flower market, Kensington is a crazy eclectic mix and Spitalfields has some great clothes.
You can try to keep food costs down a bit with offers on various chain restaurants - Pizza Express always has deals if you sign up for their emails. Lots of interesting and not too expensive street food too - head to Borough Market at lunchtime - it's amazing. |

Could also keep your eye on wowcher and LivingSocial - sign up for their email alerts. More food and experience type things than attractions.

Have you thought about a Merlin annual pass? the ticket will allow you to go on the London Eye, in Madam Tussaud’s. Sea life, Shrek Adventures, and London Dungeons. Plus you have the benefits of many other attractions and theme parks throughout the year. X

We did the sky garden yesterday which was free. Tickets are limited and you need to get them in advance. The views were amazing and we had a coffee up there.
