That sounds like an awfully long time for a reimagining - and would mean it’s closed for the entire 50th year celebrations next year.

Yes. It's been said it'll reopen in time for Epcot's 40th anniversary in 2022. Don't worry, MK will still be celebrating it's 50th anniversary when it reopens - they'll be 'celebrating' until at least the end of 2022.

I suspect some of the other work at Epcot - such as the new multi-level festival pavilion - won't be open before October 2021 either. They haven't started work on that yet and I can't imagine it'll be done in less than 18 months knowing how "quick" Disney is at construction. Although, that's just a guess on my part.

Oh flip, that closing date has just finished off a really grotty week for me! I love that ride and (unrealistically I know) hoped it would not close till end of year.
