Just use Whatsapp or messenger to call your hubby with the wifi, no need for a sim

Just meant that any UK sim ( eg 3UK or your husband's O2 for that matter) can only call UK numbers ( eg your husband or home ) whilst in the USA. Means they can't call a USA number to call a taxi or pizza delivery for example without using a work around. Only downside of them.

I’m confused then as when we were there last year I called a few usa numbers. Maybe I did the work around without even knowing.

Not sure I would want to just use the free WiFi. It might not be brilliant
