There is a newly enhanced designated walking route from Manchester City Centre to the Etihad Stadium. It takes about 25 minutes to walk and you can find maps on the City website. - search "Man City walk to the match." It might also be worth considering doing a stadium tour - they even do these on match days.

I'd recomend the Printworks, lots of places to eat. Hard Rock, Chiquito, Walabout, oneils, Nandos to name a few or over the road in the old Corn Exchange Gino Decampos, Tampopo to new a few. I would Google 1st to decide or you might walk round for hours.

Just be aware - as previous poster said - those trams will be mega busy both ways. It will probably be quicker to walk.

Highly recommend the football museum, if you have time! Our boys loved it on a trip there last summer.

theres also a kebab/pizza type place on a small industrial estate type bit about 10 mins walk from etihad!

in all seriousness, get off at picadilly, walk up to picadilly gardens (10 mins) and theres tons of places to get food and drink and stuff there. once yours done, jump on a tram (theres a stop there) and go to etihad...
