I understand Mike's feelings, holidays cost a lot of money and if your not that bothered about going then there are plenty of other things to spend the money on.

Mike I hope you find somewhere that does make you feel excited. I do think that this year many people are holding back their excitement levels for many reasons.

I think cost and the limited availability from manchester since Thomas cook shut down didn't help.

Anyway I am sure everyone will have a great holiday as we have had some really special times at disney and universal

Been about 13 times. Last year first time in ten years. Whilst I’d like to go back with grandson TBH even after that break it lost its magic.
I think it really depends on when you started going WDW is a totally different ethos to what it was in the late 70s early 80s.

The release of WDW prices for next year has for me out the nail in the WDW coffin, I do not believe the hotels are anywhere near worth the value they put in them. Then the possibility of the DDP being reduced and probably costing more, we will now be focusing on either a Villa and Universal Studios m where the hotels look to be, even at budget level, far superior to WDW. We will not do WDW. We will do WDW in 2023 as following last years experiences we have five free nights. We will only do five nights, no DDP, eat off site and five days TKS. WDW have had enough money from my family

That all said, I really understand the excitement etc that others experience and for those who have not been very often, for them, it’s till fresh and exciting

We went last year for sons 21st and daughters 18th, 3rd time and probably last.
I may do other Disney’s but not Florida, there is a big wide world and I want to see more of it.
DD and I did 4 days in Brussels and we enjoyed it more than Florida.
Obviously this is a Disney, Orlando forum so we are very much in the minority 😉

Actually I don’t think you are. There’s a lot, imho, emperors new clothes syndrome. There have been many many threads about how the WDW magic has wained

I cancelled my May trip. I just couldn't pay over £1000 for direct flights from Manchester without luggage.
Paying £60 for a steak also seemed foolish.
Still love Disney and I will be back.

Everyone is different (thankfully) I wasn't brought up in Disney but I love roller coasters.
In 2018 I did Disney and universal, then 2 trips of universal with an evening in Disney.
This time I am doing Disney with an evening in universal.
I blame vlogs on you tube for this trip. I plan to take my time and try new experiences rather than just doing the rides.
