Yes, we always stay onsite and you can charge to your room at Universal stores. Regarding using our normal cards, I simply have never found any reason to complicate things by getting travel cards and the like.

We'll take about £250 in $ cash and the rest on our credit card. It's easier to manage and track immediately. We stay offsite and spent less than £900 on the card for 2 weeks in 2016 and eating out at least once a day. It will likely be more than last time with the poor exchange rate and increased disney parking fees.
