Birthday Cakes
It will be both of my sons birthdays whilst we're in Florida (age 10 and 13)
We're staying off-site at Windsor Hills and just wondered can anyone tell me where has a good selection of birthday cakes? My eldest is into Star Wars and my youngest loves Stitch - was thinking Walmart might have character cakes? |

I'm not sure about character cakes but they do have a good selection of birthday ones.

Relaxing at the Grand Floridian

My younger grandson will be 4 while we are over there next year
All the supermarkets seem to do birthday cakes. I am not sure about specific character cakes, but someone else will probably come along who does (One option is buy a character cake topper from Amazon or E bay and take it with you to put on a cake when you are there ) |

Would second publix. They do a fab range of birthday cakes, some pick up in store, some you can order and collect later in the week. Not sure if they have any fresh bakery character ones though - check online.
We have always just picked one up in store and they have been fab. I am sure you already have bu t do remember to add the birthday dates to any ADRs and make sure to pick up a birthday pin before you head to the parks. You may find they are fed up of cake by the time they get to the actual day. One year my DD had 8 birthday cupcakes as well as a birthday cake from publix... She was 10 and was trying to get to 10 cakes - didn't quite make it but a good effort. |

Would definitely recommend Publix, I got both my DH 50th and my DD's birthday cakes from there. We ordered them from the store a few days ahead, they had a good choice and the cake was delicious.

We’ve had birthday cakes from Walmart and Publix before. There are ones in Walmart that can be decorated while you wait.

on the day we land it is my DD 30th ( the reason for this trip) we have dinner booked at Narccoosee and i have ordered a gift from disney floral to our room but wanted to get a small cake at the restaurant, in the past i have phone the cake line and had a big cake made but this time their is only two of us and it is the day we land and I don't want to pre book as if we are delayed ect we might not make the booking. I believe you can purchase a podium cake / dome cake on arrival and have the cost added to the bill, has anybody done this? Anybody have any pics of one of these cakes? I know they may give her a cup cake for free but i feel we need a bit more but not a massive cake as we are on the DDDP so will not eat it.
thanks |
