Has anyone ever booked accommodation from the management company rather than a booking site ie Vrbo . Is there anything that we need to take into consideration?

Thanks

I would certainly ask for license details and owner name. Also an owner contact name so you can check the management company are legitimate in renting it out in behalf of the owners. Our management company also get bookings for us so never be afraid to ask

Better to book direct with the owner than any third party, they always add on a commission. The fees with the likes of Vrbo are horrendous.

I always book direct with an owner rather than a management company. I prefer to speak to an owner before booking.

This has always been our choice too.

I would always usually book direct with the owner but under the current circumstances I would rather go through a third party that offers full cancellation policy even if it means paying more. Unfortunately I don't want to take risk of losing a large deposit if I need to cancel or change dates.

Most owners take a 20% deposit and are very flexible about changing dates - some sites etc charge a lot more than 20% extra

In this last year we have tried our best to move bookings and been in contact with our guests, this personally communication which you don't tend to get with third party.
