TL. Favourite park.

No - still very hot during the day normally. Just cardigan in the evening. Water temperature is great - I've never noticed if it's heated or not but probably. I've been Blizzard Beach in January before and it's been fine.

I say normally but in 2012, we'd just arrived at the tail end of Hurricane Sandy at end of October. Didn't affect Florida (it hit New York) much as it traveled up the Atlantic coast. However it did suck up an unusually large cold pool of air in from the North West in it's tail. It was freezing. Went to TL on the second day as it was due to close for refurb next day and I wasn't going to miss it. Sat there dithering for an hour or so along with the other half dozen die hards. But that was extremely unusual weather. Aquatica was closed for a couple of days which is unheard of that time of year. Beautifully sunny but so so cold.

Plenty of life vests available. Swim shoes no.1 on the list for me but some people say not to bother. The rough surface of the wave pool can be pretty treacherous on the knees if it knocks you over. You're a TL babe until you've had a scrape or 2.

Water shoes definitely. It's not only the bottom of the wave pool that is very rough. The walls and floor of Castaway Creek lazy river are also rough and it doesn't take much to get a nasty graze, even on toes. Plenty of life vests available.

Don't underestimate the power of the wave, it will knock anyone over, not just little ones, so take care but have fun! Xx

Pool is great. The waves don't go all the time, there's a gap for about 30 minutes every so often. I doubt it's heated due to the size of it but like others have posted it's still hot. Lazy river is great and the kids area and family slides are fantastic. It's my favourite water park.

I didn't bother with swim shoes, just brought flip flops that I then left with my stuff and walked around barefoot (though at certain areas the floor did feel pretty rough - so maybe swim shoes might be a better idea if you happen to have them).

Definitely be wary in the wave pool if not a confident swimmer. I'm not normally scared of water, but got really surprised by the huge wave in the wave pool and only managed a couple of the huge waves before I decided I'd had enough!
