When does the Christmas season start?

Hi all,

I am going for the first time from 5 November 2018 for 14 nights and wondering when Christmas really gets going in WDW?

I would love to see the Christmassy stuff like the decorations but I'm also really interested to see Christmas in Epcot with the different cultures and the different hotels dressed up etc.

Will I be there for all of it or will I miss some?

Decorations go up in mk the day after the last Halloween party but the Christmas festivities in resorts , Epcot etc normally start properly after thanksgiving ( end Nov) . Epcot this year is nov 24th

As Mexy02 says. The week after 31st October they change over to Christmas ready for the Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party evenings in Magic Kingdom. The first one this year is November 9th. The other parks and resorts follow. The decorations last until January 5th (Twelth Night).

Just to echo what Mexy02 said...

Both Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at MK and the Sunset Seasons Greetings celebrations at HS start on November 9th. So that looks like when Christmas officially starts at WDW.

Epcot's International Festival of the Holidays starts on November 19th. The Candlelight Processional and the Christmas version of Illuminations start from November 24th. So Christmas starts a little later at Epcot and unfortunately I think you might just miss these.

Ah well! At least I get to see Christmas in the Magic Kingdom and also avoid most of the Thanksgiving crowds from flying on the first Monday of that week! Just another incentive to book again one day

Thanks all!

The gingerbread house at GF should be up or at least being worked on towards the end of your stay so you should be able to see it. The Christmas tree will be up in BOG if you have a reservation for there.
