Definately echo other comments, the earlier the better.
Also, id reccomend getting breakfast first, then doing the aviary before getting changed as it's a bit shaded in there and can be a bit chilly when you're wet. Also the birds are super active first thing so they'll land on you and take your food. We started doing this for our last couple of trips and it's so much nicer than doing it wet, slipping in flip flops with wet feet and the birds are always full later on! Next tip would be to go see otters early in too (that's in water so you'll need to be changed for that) as it's a small area that gets busy. Finally, swim shoes, for me are a must. I hate swim shoes with a passion but cut my toe quite badly in the lazy river once as it's quite jagged in parts so swimshoes are really handy. Plus the sand and pathways get really hot. They're also very useful for seaventure if you do that. Have an awesome time! Edited at 12:09 PM. |

Without wishing to sound argumentative, we have never felt the need to get there early, ok so the car park is a LITTLE full, and sometimes you have to wait 5 minutes to check in, but never had to queue for breakfast and never missed out on anything. To us its the relaxation day, so what if we get there at 9, the whole place is so chilled it doesnt matter. Just dont feel that you NEED to get there early.
BUT, one comment got my attention - about the birds, that may be worth getting there ealry for, i / we love the bird feeding and if they are all hungry early then that would be wicked! |

We went on 4th September last year, got there about 8.30 and there was a queue, booked our dolphin swim for 12.00. That was fine for us as we all wanted breakfast first and the kids enjoyed the time in the grand reef. Then we did the swim, had lunch, more time in the reef and the lazy river...possibly a few bud light limes 😉 it's an incredible day, would love to do it again by budget won't allow next year unfortunately.

We had our "honeymoon day" there 2 years ago after we got married, we're going back this year and I've booked DC for our Wedding Anniversary. Get there early and... relax!

Also going for first time this year, cant wait. Good tips. thank you. The boys and hubby can go to the birds first and I will chill. I'm afraid of birds. So won't be going in there.
