I did keys to the kingdom on my birthday without my DW and DS, we then met up and went to the yachtsman for dinner.
Do what you want to do for a half day, and don't get drawn into the trolling above. As long as everybody is happy, who cares. Enjoy |

I did want a day on my own but he is the one that is insisting. Although our sons will be 19 & 13, they cant be left alone as the older one has ASD, ADHD and ODD and we would probably be contacted by security.lol Its because I work so hard planning and researching (I secretly love it)to get there and then trying to keep schedules once we are there. I have always thought it would be lovely to even just walk about for a couple of hours on my own and soak in everything and people watch and not have to constantly keep my son focused and on track and answering constant questions (which I also love). I will not feel guilty for leaving hubby with the boys for a few hours. It's a one off because we are there on my birthday. We will all meet up for dinner and I can boar them with tales of my adventure.

As another Mum to an adult with ASD I think your husband sounds fab and understands why some time to yourself would indeed be a gift.
(Btw the tea at the BC doesn't look like it went beyond a trial Pity as we are there for my birthday next year and I'd have loved to have done it) Edited at 06:45 PM. |

Thank you. That sounds a lovely day. Yes we are going to meet up late afternoon and hopefully have dinner at Narcoosees .
Can I ask did you enjoy the keys to the kingdom tour on your own?

I think this is a brilliant idea, I find we are so busy getting to and from fp rides and adr's that I feel like I miss loads. It would be lovely to have even half a day, soaking up all the Disney details. I hope you have a wonderful time, wherever you choose to spend it! 😊

Thank you, yes that's what it is just half a day. We all do rush from one place to another, I feel we must miss so much detail.

I'm fully supportive of this! I am the Disney lover in our family of 3 and my dd6 and me do quite a bit together while hubby chills out by the pool or Disney springs. So I absolutely love a few hours to myself and I'm doing an evening of Epcot this time as it's my favourite park
