Age limit for VIP tours

Hi all,

I have just been looking at the variety of VIP tours for August.
We have done KTTK previously and would like to do again, but DS is only 14 (although looks about 21!).
WEIRDLY, the age limit for KTTK is over-16 but the age limit for Backstage magic is over 12? !
When both "spoil the magic", why would they have different age limits?
I know the BM tour is much more expensive, so perhaps Disney is trying to cash in as much as possible (as if! ) but just wondered if anyone knew what the BM tour doesn't cover that KTTK does - why is the age limit different?
rather strange...

I think it's about keeping up at a fast pace for the length of the tour. I've been waiting for years to do it because of the age limits.

I think I read with KTTK you might see half dressed characters in the tunnels
With backstage you don't as they take you to a different part of ythe he tunnels where they practice for the parade etc 🤔

I was wondering about age limits too but at the other end of the scale, there are a couple of tours id love to do but they say children must be a min of 4. My ds will be 3 and 11 months would he be able to go or is it an insurance thing?
