Sorry just back from Epcot!

Sha9, Lisa has summed it up perfectly so I won't repeat what she has posted.

I also never felt constrained and could move a few inches easily whilst still being securely restrained, if that makes sense!

Personally I feel secure enough not to have to hold on although they do tell you to. I had one hand on my glasses through part of it yesterday due to them being annoyingly too big! I felt secure enough to do that. Also, we saw a man with no arms leaving one of the ride areas so I'm presuming he was safe enough to ride. Although he may have had extra restraints in place.

Thank you that's very helpful. I didn't want to queue for ages to find they wouldn't let my son ride because he had trouble gripping with both hands.

Had a bad back (slipped disc & sciatica) for nigh on 15 years or so... stopped me playing sport (football) but the vast majority of rides I have ridden no problems what so ever... FOP was an absolute walk in the park (back wise) compared to Primeval Whirl, Space Mountain and the Matterhorn !

To be honest they won't even know. They check the restraints are in place but that's it.
