Sat Nav question

We are going to Florida in June, i am just wondering whether anyone has hired a sat nav from ebay to take with them. I think we need a sat nav because DH always thinks he knows a better way! than the directions.

I've ordered one from ebay for my holiday. The seller emailed me straight away to ask my dates so I'm assuming it'll be OK. I'll let you know if it isn't in a few weeks time

I hired one from eBay last year. The unit really could have done with an update but it still managed to get us from a-b.

£18 to rent £5 to post back you can buy a used satnav with usa maps on ebay for not much more than that.
It will be yours then and if you dont intend going a second time you could resell it on ebay for what you bought it for.
No worryindg is it going to arrive on time has it got back to the renter when you send back

if you have an english one have a look into downloading US maps for it, that's what we did last year, cost us £35 and obviously you have them forever

This is what we did when they had there maps sale on so much easier than renting one

I just install Nav free on my phone and use that. The app doesnt use data so no need to worry about data charges etc. Alternatively if you are on three you can just use google maps and use the free data.

Thanks for all your replies, I have installed NAV free on my phone but i am not very Techie! how does it work offline.

Open NAV Free and select which state you want to download maps for (do this on your home wifi ) After that the map is installed on your phone so it doesn't use data when your out and about.

I found it really easy to use, when I was on the hotel wifi in the morning I'd look up where I was going that day on the NAV free app. It has a google search facility in the app which works quite well. I'd then save them to my favourites for when I was out in the car.

Very easy app to use once you become familiar with it.
