I guess I'm in a minority here but I really don't get all the love and enthusiasm for all things Avatar. It kind of passed me by as a movie and I just don't think that it has the staying power to be such a big part of a major Disney theme park. If the new movie bombs or has a less than stellar review then I fear they may have a massive turkey on their hands and that a significant bit of re-theming may be called for PDQ! With such an extensive and impressive back catalogue that Disney could have drawn on it's puzzling what made them decide that Avatar was the best way forward. Time will only tell if this was an inspired or insane investment decision.

i liked avatar when it came out - it was beautiful etc... and if this had been taken on and constructed a few years ago i THINK it may have attracted more peoples' attention as the film was still in their minds. it was brought out in 2009 - so it will be shy of 10 years when the land opens.

don't get me wrong, i love the idea of it; i think it will be a visually stunning land (hopefully!) but i just feel it's kinda like too little too late type thing. I know that avatar 2 is set to be released 2017 but if it's not a hit it could impact on the attraction too IMO.

I think the problem isn't necessarily with Avatar itself, I think it's the fact that it's taking and costing so much and there are so many other things they could have done with the time money and real estate then Avatar...

Sure it will be great, but will leave so many thinking what could have been. How many of us would have preferred the much talked about Beastly Kingdom?

You know, I think that combined with today's technology would be wonderful. I am looking forward to it and the whole Avatar Land area in general, but it is one of my DD's favourite movies so I may be a little biased.
