Dash Cam recommendations
So DH wants to get a dash cam for his car. I looked on Amazon this morning and have no idea where to start! We don't want to pay more than about £50 for this, but I really don't want to just buy one based on price alone.
Anyone got any inexpensive recommendations, based on personal experience? (My dad bought one from Aldi for £20 and it packed up within a week!) Thanks in advance.

I bought this one back in 2015. Lovely bit of kit. Very clear imagery and tucks nicely behind the rear view mirror.
Cost me £50 for an auto electrician to fit it and when I sold the car I took it off and it's now on the current car. All I had to do was buy a 20p sticky pad to reaffix it - plus the electricians cost again. amazon/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I paid about £8 less than this, keep a look out for it in a Lightning deal.

the yi dashcam is pretty good for the money
amazon/dp/B078D6CC...d93239c0b53384 right now, you can get £8 off (so £26.99) by clicking the promotion button just below the price also, if you wanted something that records permanently instead of just when the car is running, you could probably do so with something like this. just bear in mind it will (very slowly) drain your car battery, so if youre leaving it for extended periods of time between driving the car, this could be an issue amazon/Mio-MiVue-S...?tag=amzn21-21 hth Edited at 11:14 AM. |

Thanks guys, really helpful - I'll show DH both of these tonight and let him decide.
Honestly, I was very confused by the range on offer, so I really do appreciate your help. Dole whips all round!
