Ok - I finally found an hour to sit down and make inroads to this model. So, the first thing to be constructed is the chassis.
So we start with these 9 pieces: To which is added this framework: Edge pieces are added and you can see where the boarding platform will eventually be on the right: You turn the whole lot over and strengtheners are added as is the curved rear which will form the boarding platform: We turn it all face up and the front end of the bus begins construction: The boarding platform end gets leveled off and foot grips are added: The lower deck flooring is added and all the fittings for the seats: 168 pieces - 1 hour. Geoff. You have to hand it to the Lego engineers. They do an awesome job on these items.
Coming on nicely.

Excited about Disney

Yes the lego imagineers do a great job , I've got my eye on the development of the blues brothers car on the lego ideas page (as this will be dh's Christmas /birthday present ) . My dh has just recently completed the lego NASA apollo Saturn 5 which is taller than my lego Disney castle , but the look great .

My DS got the NASA Appolo Saturn V set the day it was released - it really is an amazing set and looks great on display
I'm impressed with the quality of the newer sets aimed at the adult market - I bought DS the Marvel SHEILD Helicarrier for his 30th birthday (another that looks great on display) and had considered buying him the London Bus and putting it away for Christmas for him. |
