Walt Disney World Railroad

So by looking at the pictures of Tron at D23 it shows the train passing through the ride.

Does this mean the train will be out of action whilst they build this ride?

When they closed the railroad in California, they put an engine and a couple cars plus an engineer in each of the open stations for the train mad children (and grown ups). I'm not sure if they did this in MK though because we waited to go after Main Street station was reopened... because we would be meeting you for the pity party of heartbroken tiny train fans in November! Fingers crossed everything is still chugging.

The ride is due to open in 2021 for the 50th anniversary so no way they'll start building in November this year. Your train mad kid will be able to ride!

There got a lot of land clearing to do first. It took them over 12 months just to remove everything on the Star Wars lot.

I would imagine they'll start around mid to late 2018 which would give them a good 2 years to get it done

My guess is it will have to close, at least for the period they're working directly over it. But hopefully there's a lot of work that can be done in the rear lot while keeping that running as it's one of my favourites. As someone already said, the lot clearing will take a good amount of time anyway, so I don't think it would be closing soon.
