Nooo Geoff, I've followed all of your lego from the beginning and I just am awestruck by your patience and diligence to what you're doing. It's great to watch this through all the different stages

Many thanks. I find that doing the models really relaxes me and takes me away from every day strife. Yes, they can be fiddly but the end results are worth it.

The actual clock and bell is next but I'm out tonight so it is going to have to wait.

I'm here! My iPad was playing up and not loading all the images so had to wait for it show properly.

It's coming along well. I'm looking forward to seeing the bell/clock section, I think your night out should wait

Geoff. Sorry but my sun lounger distracted me from posting!
Since my last visit to this post you have made great progress, well done. It's looking really good. Cannot believe how many pieces make up the tree.

And finally we reach the bags labelled 7

I don't know why but I find the next structure very Parliament in style:

Balustrades come next:

This in turn makes a structure to hold the cog which will transmit movement to the clock faces:

Next are the clock faces and we fit bricks on the rear that will allow them to be connected to the clock tower structure:

Cogs are added:

We start to put together the clock part:

Looking familiar?

these fascia are added;

We now put "Big Ben" together:

And hang it above the clocks:

More balustrades and the connecting rod between clocks faces and the turning mechanism is inserted:

Lots of gilding features:

The top of the tower starts to rise:

The lantern is fitted. This was introduced by Queen Victoria. It had to be lit during late night sessions so she and the public knew that MPs were still at work:

More gilding:

At this point it reminds me of the base at the Statue of Liberty:

The top gets completed with its gold spires:

And finally:

The London bus is a separate little kit which is in scale with the building.

633 pieces 1 1/2 hours

Running totals: 4163 pieces 17 hours
