Last Disney film we saw at cinema I think was inside out which I thought with her having autism and it exploring emotions and feelings would be good for her... it wasn't but she's a bit older now and asked if she could see this, she knew about the day of the dead as they had learnt about this in a topic at school a while back, I also talked through it again before we set off.
No need to worry about any content it was handled in a way she understood perfectly and wasn't upset at all... I got more emotional.

Ds12 has autism too and I agree he understood it well-whereas like you found he was very confused with inside out!.

It was brilliant! I absolutely loved every second of it.

We saw it last week and all enjoyed it. But later that evening when DD (9) was going to sleep she came crying downstairs saying she was having a nightmare. She said she couldn't get the land of the dead out of her mind. Once she had calmed down I told her that some people believe that place exists, but we decided we weren't sure and thought maybe its a bit like giant country in BFG.
I thought the film was very sensitivley done.

We adored Coco. My 3 year old is constantly running around with a little ukelelee playing Remember Me! Might be my favourite one! It was just enchanting

Yes I had hopes for it too-totally went over his head but I loved it!
