we had 3 goes at "the one" prom dress last year, before my DD finally settled on one from Asos -
asos/search/prom%20dress?q=prom+dress Hers cost less than £50 because I found a good 20% discount code at the time . The 2nd "the one" was from Debenhams, but you're right OP, my DD decided to return that one because another girl in her year showed her pics of her dress and it was very similar to the one my DD had bought. My DD knew she wanted tea-length, and her eventual "the one" was stunning and suited her perfectly. |

We got dds prom dress online from chi chi. We ordered a few, a couple of them were short and she kept the one she wanted.
I think it was £70, the short ones had been reduced to £20 and looked lovely, but she preferred the longer one but shorter at the front. Edited at 05:19 PM. |

Depends on her style of course but if she likes 50's style Vivien of Holloway and Lindy Bop have vintage styles.
Also local bridal shops for bridesmaid dresses? One of the girls I tutor got a stunning dress from David's Bridal (not independent local obviously) |

Please don't trust light in the box. I ordered a clutch bag for our upcoming cruise in August last year with the promise of 7 days delivery. Turned out to be coming from China, didn't arrive, put in a claim. Told to wait it may be stuck at customs. They palmed me off with all sorts of excuses till I threatened them with bad review. I had refund minus the postage and told to return it should it show up. Five months later it turned up and I'm not paying to return it. It only cost £7 so not a lot to lose but the reviews are terrible and the quality of the dresses is poor judging by some reviews.

Chi Chi London do beautiful dresses.
Agree with looking at local boutiques as well.

We have prom this June too, I have categorically refused to spend £300+ on a dress(this appears to be the minimum going rate where we are! ) so my daughter decided on a short glam dress from Missguided. They have a range called Peace+Love which are quite pricey but lovely. With a 10% discount I paid £135. It’s a nightmare, this prom malarkey, a crazy expensive one.

I will pay up to £100 for her dress and then she wants shoes and her hair done, possibly blonde bits and wavy which will also cost a bomb! Also needs make up, do girls do there own or go and have it done professionally? I have had two boys going to prom before so having a girl is exciting but daunting!

My daughter had her proms (2 of) a couple of years ago. They girls all went to have their hair, makeup and nails done. Most went for fake tans too - although that was a step too far for my daughter😀
Appointments in this area were booked up months in advance so I would check that out if I were you.
