My son 12 likes Nike Air max and I’ve been lucky enough to always get good bargains and have never paid more than £20 a pair. He has just gone into a size 7 which now means adult sizes and no more £15-£20 bargains its looking like £40-£50 going to be the cheapest.

DS17 loves his trainers and last two years as part of xmas presents,
has had a pair of Nikes that were over £100. Same as a PP, I have a limit I would pay for a pair and if they want better ones then they pay the difference or have them as part of birthday/xmas presents.

£50-£60 is usually what DS13s trainers come in at - although to be fair, his are usually part of his Christmas / Birthday presents, or he buys them out of his own savings. As a result, he really looks after them - especially his all white Nike Hurachis, which he is so careful to keep pristine 👟😀
