Rest all meh , I just don’t get fantasmic and illuminations are dated and it a patch on hea. Rol hard to comment as the rol package seating was dire. :/

I'd campaign to bring back "Fantasy in the sky" We were lucky enough to catch it again in 2005 when they reprised it for 3rd & 4th July. Never was a fan of Wishes.

Mine would be

1. Fantasmic
2. something else I haven't seen yet
3. as above
4. Illuminations which I just don't get.

Looking forward to Rivers of Light.

Note I haven't seen the newer shows in person yet, but have watched POV of all.

1 - HEA. I know this will be first, because I love the DLP projection show.
2 - ROL. I love that it has no fireworks although I know that's a negative for most.
3 - Fantasmic. This is just a middling show to me, don't have huge opinions either way.
4 - SW Fireworks. Don't like SW or fireworks so doubly bad for me, although they are technically well done.
5 - Illuminations. Meh was my opinion nearly 20 years ago and it still holds true.

My favourite evening show (ok, parade) was and always will be MSEP though. Doesn't really hold up now, but just so nostalgic.

I didn't enjoy Illuminations the first time I saw it and it hasn't improved. It was also the one on our last visit where my daighter managed to fall asleep whilst sat on my shoulders...

We are not Star Wars fans so thinking of missing this one out. We plan to go to Disney for 4 evenings and so far our order of visits are -
Rivers of light
Fantasmic
Illuminations
Happily ever after

Does anyone have any thoughts? It's to tie in with our whole plan ...we can maybe change ROL with Happily ever after but would mean messing about with our itinerary.

Also - The days we are there for evening at Fantasmic and Happily ever after (Which will be our last night in Orlando) we plan to be at Disney the whole day (rope drop - park close) is this a bad idea?

We are a couple aged 29 and 26. Ta lots!
I would say the only risk with leaving HEA until your last evening is if there were any problems with weather and it got cancelled you wouldn't have another chance.

I don't think a whole day at the park is impossible as a couple (depending a bit on the time of year, the heat in august is draining), just make sure you plan yourself some in park down time, some of the shows in HS, or a sit down meal, so you're not shattered.

Good thinking with shows!
We're staying offsite so it just gets expensive going back and forward in taxis all day.

Ta!

Great thread!

For me:-

1) Happily Ever After
(Controversially, I preferred this to Wishes. Even though I've grown up with Wishes, and it is a very important part of my most precious memories, HEA was something else)

2) Illuminations - an emotional show for me.

3) ROL - I really enjoyed this - visually, it is just so beautiful

4) Fantasmic - Perhaps I've seen it too many times now.

5) SW fireworks. I am a SW fan and I wasn't overly impressed. Maybe I was stood in the wrong place.

I too was unimpressed with star wars fireworks. We watched it on our last night and was annoyed we had wasted time doing it, but again maybe our spot just wasn't good... I thought it was all mashed together in a rush to put a show on!

1. fantasmic
2. happily ever after
3. illuminations
4. rivers of light
5. star wars
