You can take bags on most rides at Disney. Kali River Rapids has lockers near the ride to put your belongings in.
Universal have lockers by the rides you cannot take your bags on.
These lockers are free for a certain period of time based on the ride wait time ( I think)

Thank you!
I'd read about the day lockers at the parks, but we'd like to keep a phone for the odd photo and some cash on us so thinking of just carrying a small bag around with us.
Just under 4 weeks till we go and the more I look on here the more I realise we've not thought about.

youll be fine at disney, they have little sacks in front of you to pout your bags in. Universal have lockers that you must put your bags in.

universal has locker stations on most of there rides, you put your bag in get assigned a locker, when you come back open your locker and go to the next ride and use the rides lockers. if you just leave your bag in the same locker all day they will charge you for it

be advised that at universal's there will be rides with metal detectors and you can't go in with your phone or loose change in your pocket

everything goes into a locker

as a previous poster mentionned, the locker is free for a period of time based on the current standby line

If you stay onsite and use express, you may be tempted to reride the ride multiple times, but have your eyes set on your watch, if you exceed the free locker time, you'll need to pay based on the time you left your stuff in the locker
so if using express, it sometimes best to just go to the locker, get your stuff, and simply rent another one for free.

locker rooms can be hectic, and using the lockers can be quite consuming (harry potter rides can be a nightmare to get a locker at during busy times)

we've now learned our lesson, and as we stay onsite and have the photoconnect card we just go bagless.
you can get a free ice water cup from any restaurant, so that's enough for beverages, and the tickets and passes go on a lanyard
saves us roughly 10 minutes per ride overall.

Our way round this is to use bumbags... not beautiful but they will let you on all rides with it except hulk and rip ride rocket.
