Getting onto the My Disney App

Hi,
I managed to get onto my Disney app yesterday around 4pm but struggled today at this time (11.40am), is this perhaps because everyone is booking their fast passes at the same time?

Also does anyone have any advice on what time slots are best, I have looked at maps of the parks and plan to book Fps 1 hour apart and want to make sure I'm not doing too much tooing and fro-ing between rides. Do you get time between fast pass slots to fit in another ride or attraction?

one plan of action (among others) :

Book the FP+ for the first 3 hours
for example
#1 9-10am, enter line at 9:55am after taking advantage of early morning low standby crowds
#2 10-11am you'll be out of FP+ #1 rignt inside the return window for this FP+, so you can ride immediatly. choose a ride that's not on the other side of the park compared to FP+ #1
#3 11-12am depending on how long #2 takes, you'll have between 60 and 90 minutes before riding #3, that's long enough to do something in between
or you can do that last one as soon as possible after 11am, so you can get FP+#4 from the app while in line for #3 right after you've scanned for #3
