You stole my joke!

For clarity's sake "Whale" is sale terminology for a sale that is much larger than your average sale.

has anyone got a map view that shows the proposed parking area for 'pref parking' - just curious really. Not sure how far you are talking without seeing an image. It does seem bonkers for pay $35 to park.

It is mad, isn't it. There will still be people who pay it, but for most of us normal, under-paid folk, we'll catch the tram - we love the tram ride anyway, although for us it is the second Disney ride of the holiday - the first one is the monorail at the airport!

Well, to echo others comments whenever Disney raise their parking prices...

Hey, it's only $35, about £25, to park all day. Compared to the overall cost of the holiday that's tiny. And it costs just as much to park in the grotty NCP car park in town and that's just for a few hours. Plus Disney uses the money to man the kiosks at the entrance, provide security and lighting, help guests with any breakdowns, and keep the parking lots in tip-top sparkly condition.

Remember that you're paying for pixie dust, people.

Anyone for an overpriced cupcake?

There are rumours that Disney may introduce an onsite $15pn "resort fee" that covers things like free parking and the like.

They'll be charging for the first-timer and birthday buttons next.

Well personally I'd far rather see them get extra income from something like this that is voluntary rather than a blanket increase for everyone. You will always find people prepared to spend more for something that they perceive as value. There are many who think that staying on site is not worth the cost, many who stay on-site who think the more expensive hotels are not worth it. For me, and my family, deluxe is worth it, it's part of the holiday and I'm willing to pay extra for it. For those that want to park closer and pay for it, let them off.

This, for me, is a far fairer way of getting more income than blanket increases across the board and I really hope that they come up with more like it rather than hitting everybody. (rumoured resort fees for instance, the hotels are expensive enough already)
