But your hysterical media isn't helping, in my opinion!

I think you should allow yourself the excitement of making your trip! Hope you have a great time.
I'm hoping the usa will stick to an individual approach to travel rather then how high the rates are in the country you are coming from.

I think thats wise going forward for every country. There will be rises and falls in cases for years to come across all countries so its ridiculous to keep banning certain countries every time cases rise a bit.

My opinion (which is worth exactly one red cent) is that we will not tailor the rules to each individual country. Who has time to keep all of that straight? You're either in with or without a visa, or you're out.

The devil will be in the details. There's currently a huge push here to get kids and teens vaccinated, and for everyone who needs one to get a booster. I don't really know if that means it will be more difficult for unvaxxed people under 18 to come here. Hopefully not, but I guess we'll find out very soon now.

Apparently the finer details are being released tomorrow 25th Oct , 2 weeks before the opening so not long to wait

A little bit worried - we fly the end of November but worried that me or DH will test positive too. I've just had my booster this week so having had 3 injections and had covid I'm hoping that that will be enough to ward it off!

There was 44K cases reported yesterday, down 8k from the high of 52k a couple days previous, but of course that wasn't shown by the media as much yesterday.

The borders will open as planned, stay positive

I think if I was travelling soon I’d be more worried about testing positive than anything else. I seem to be talking to people every day who have tested positive or have someone in their household who has at work ……and that’s very new. Whether it’s that the strain is now milder so people are doing stuff whilst isolating rather than are really sick or something else, I’m not sure. It seems school is the place to catch it at the moment.
