You can get a PCR test with a turn around time of 1 to 3 hours but it is expensive.

I changed mine to 23 hours before my flight - but I think it will stay at “the day before” and I also think if they do go for quarantine it will be over 18’s unvaccinated ( by choice ) as thats least discriminatory - but we’ll see later on today

Reuters news article this morning I read (can't find link at the mo)

Was updated about 3am GMT, said Biden was extending mask mandate until March 22, and in same article said the new travel rules "could start as early as next week"

For my end of January trip I have 2 types of tests bookmarked for the day before my flight

1. same day LFT / antigen, at a place nearby which I can walk to. This has been my original plan all along
2. same day PCR in Dublin city centre, which will mean a 1 hour bus journey each way and is more expensive

The Irish Government have changed to testing before the flight as well. It will be reviewed on December 17. However I have now bookmarked the testing place at LAX. I have booked a hotel at the airport and will get to LAX the day before my flight so I have plenty of time to do the test and get the results if needed.

I am another one who just changed our Breathe Assured. Though doing a test on a Friday after school ahead of a three hour drive to airport hotel for a morning flight, means documentation might be a bit stressful!

Fingers crossed it is LFT’s not PCRs.

Yes, but Boris has said we all need to quarantine round yours in addition to our day 2 pcr test. I'll be round yours on the 12th. 👍

Hate not knowing whether to go to Edinburgh for our tests on Sunday or have to try for an appointment in Manchester on Tuesday when we get off our train 🤔
